Hilton Stockholm Slussen is looking for a Finance Manager to join the team as we look into an exciting future for hospitality. Hilton Stockholm Slussen is a full service hotel located with a view over the old town. In addition to the 289 guest rooms and large meeting facilities, we operate several F&B outlets. At Hilton Stockholm Slussen you will be part of an energetic and competent team and report to the Area General Manager.

As Finance Manager you will be part of the hotels management team. You will lead the finance department, incl. IT & procurement, and associated operations such as account management and reporting to optimize the hotels profitability.

What will I be doing?
We are looking for a Finance Manager who will lead the Finance department and associated operations to optimize the hotels profitability. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Be responsible for the month end closing and all other required management reports as per Hilton and local country legislation are completed
  • Work with the General Manager and Commercial Director to provide full and accurate forecasting and budgeting proposals within the hotel
  • Prepare capital reviews as required by the General Manager and the Hilton regional Finance Team
  • Develop best practice financial accounting and control procedures and continually review the process and procedures to maximise impact and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with hotel lease agreement, with corporate reporting requirements and with local statutory and fiscal requirements
  • Ensure the balance sheets are a fair reflection of the assets and liabilities of the hotels as per local legislation and company standards
  • Lead monthly finance update meetings with General Manager/Hotel management team
  • Comply with hotel/company policies and procedures across the area, maximising performance on the Finance Balanced Scorecard
  • Cost control and proper follow up to ensure adherence
  • Review the balance sheets, ensure reconciliations are performed
  • Ensure the property is SOX compliant
  • Ensure adequate purchasing procedures
  • Be the first point of contact for Auditors, Swedish Tax authority and Banks.
  • Finance team members, IT supervisor and Store supervisor are direct reporting to you as Finance Manager
  • Strong leadership focus for the direct reporting team including team development, empowerment and efficiency
  • Conduct yearly performance reviews and consistent one-to-one meetings with the team members
  • Ensure correct and efficient IT function at hotel as per Hilton standards
  • Ensure correct and efficient Stores function at hotel as per Hilton standards
  • Assist Heads of the Department to improve their financial awareness and provide them with relevant financial information for their operations

What are we looking for?
A Finance Manager serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • Relevant University degree, in Finance or related business discipline
  • You might be having an Assistant Finance Manager role currently and are and looking for the next step?
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably both in Sweden and internationally
  • Minimum 5+ years working within a finance department. Minimum 2+ years in a leadership function within finance with responsibility of the department and direct reporting team members.
  • English fluent in both speech and writing as the role also answers to the Senior Director Finance Continental Europe.
  • Proven work experience within a finance department, preferably within a large international company. Beneficial to have worked in the hospitality industry.
  • Organisation, planning skills and the ability to prioritise
  • Rigorous commitment to accuracy and detail
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Effective management skills (upwards and downwards) and the willingness to coach and train others
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • To work in line with Hilton values at all times.

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

Knowledge of commercial business, especially as it relates to hotel management

Previous experience in the hospitality industry

Experience with the hotel systems
